Company History

Howard Richter, our company president and CEO has come from a family with an extensive background in construction. Prior to starting his own company, Howard served as a construction foreman for one of Arizona’s leading builders, Schuffler and Kerley and later as a construction superintendent for Billingsley Construction Co., at the time one of the largest custom home builders in the area.

In 1979 Howard founded Sierra Remodeling and in 1982 he incorporated the business in Arizona under the name Sierra Remodeling & Homebuilders, Inc. In subsequent years, and to more accurately reflect the diversity of the corporation, three divisions emerged and began operating under the names of Sierra Remodeling, Sierra Custom Home Builders and Advanced Kitchen and Bath Designs. While each of these divisions serve a unique segment of the market, all three maintain the underlying philosophy of “Providing to each customer the highest quality products and services at the most economical cost.” For 30 years Howard has been providing this quality service to the residents of Sierra Vista, Cochise County, and the surrounding communities in southeastern Arizona.

Our Divisions

Sierra Custom Homes - Your one stop to begin your journey in having the home of your dreams. We will use your plans, or you might choose to select one of our plans, or perhaps some combination of the above, we will do everything that we can to make your dreams into reality. Additionally, and while supplies last, we can offer land/home packages, or lots only. These properties are located in the Sierra Reserve Subdivision.

Sierra Remodeling - Your source for any and all aspects of remodeling your existing home or office. Room additions, garages, doors, windows, patios, fireplaces, entertainment centers (stand alone or built-in), and decks are only a partial listing of our capabilities. We invite you to take your imagination to heights you thought were not otherwise possible.

Advanced Kitchen and Bath Designs - From design to completion, our designers and craftsmen will be with you every step of the way to your new kitchen or bath.

We also offer - through our Sierra Remodeling or Advanced Kitchen and Bath Designs divisions Retail and/or Contractor Product Sales. Please click on the appropriate link to discuss this option with one of our specialists.

Customer Satisfaction - Is the driving force behind our organization and operations. Using our 20/20 Kitchen and Bath Design software and/or our 3D Home Architect Design software, and working directly with you, our customer, we can take your project from concept to completion.
While still in the planning stages, our computer generated layouts of the project can show you the project at completion, and allows us and you the ability to add or delete products or features quickly before construction ever begins.
